3760218 - An Unclear Error Message While Adding Link as an Attachments in an Opportunity

Symptom

When you add link as an attachment within an opportunity it only shows an error message as 400, which is not clear.

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2.
  • SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.
  • SAP Service Cloud Version 2.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Guided Selling view.
  2. Search and open an opportunity LMN (where LMN represent the opportunity name) .
  3. Go to an Attachment section and click on + button to add New Link.
  4. Enter the Title and Link for example: xyz, or xyz.com or www.xyz.com (where xyz represents domain name) and click Save button.
  5. You just see error message as 400 .

Cause

400 error indicates server communication error, which means the server couldn't understand the request sent by your web browser. 

Resolution

  1. Currently, we only show error message as 400 .
  2. You need to add complete URL link as https://www.xyz.com
  3. To have detailed error message it will be an enhancement request, which needs to address via Influence Request.
