Symptom

  • Error when trying to upload a custom locale file in Manage Languages: "Editing the selected translation or translations would exceed your customisation limit of 1000. Increase the limit or discard unnecessary custom translations."
  • The same error occurs when attempting to modify a translation in the UI.
  • Occurs even though the Customisation Limits setting was increased above 1000.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Manage Languages.
  2. Attempt to upload a custom language translation file.
  3. Observe the error: "Editing the selected translation or translations would exceed your customisation limit of 1000. Increase the limit or discard unnecessary custom translations."
  4. Alternatively, after importing 1000 labels, try to modify any translation in the UI and observe the same error.

Cause

A known product defect causes the system to continue enforcing a 1000 customisation limit even after the limit is increased.

Resolution

  • Use a temporary workaround by operating with a maximum limit of 1000 custom translations.
  • A fixing patch will be released on June 9th for Preview and June 11th, 2026 for Production environment.
