3760263 - ESI - "Locking not possible; object does not exist" error after upgrade

Symptom

While performing locking operations within the BOPF Framework, the following error message is encountered: "Locking not possible; object does not exist"

No short dumps are generated. However, an error entry can be identified in transaction SLG1 based on the user and timestamp of the reproduction (e.g.):

  • Message Class: /BOBF/FRW_COMMON
    Message Number: 008
    Error Code: /BOBF/FRW_COMMON008
    Object: /IWBEP/ (SAP NetWeaver Gateway Backend Enablement & Event Publishing)
    Subobject: RUNTIM (Runtime Processes)
    Program: SAPMSSY1
    Log Message Type: Technical message
