Symptom
When creating a sales order and changing the requested delivery date, the invoice date is re-determined and the following information message is shown:
- Change in invoice date: The billing date is redetermined (Message no. V1616)
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
The invoice date is taken from the customer master if maintained.
If not maintained, in case of delivery-related billing, it's taken from the good issue date. So when changing the Requested Delivery Date (RDD), the GI date changes and so the invoicing date. Therefore, if changing the Requested Delivery Date, the invoice date is automatically re-determined.
Resolution
This is the system standard behavior. When creating a sales order, the Requested Delivery Date is automatically set as the creation date, and so the invoicing date. If changing the RDD, other dates also need to be redetermined.
If creating the order with reference, to avoid needing to change the Requested Delivery Date and receiving this message, enter the Requested Delivery Date when entering the data for reference document in VA01.
