3760336 - UI Business Rule value visible only in edit mode on Custom MDF Card in Latest People Profile

Symptom

  • UI Business rule to populate value did not display the information on portlet.
  • Information is visible only in edit mode.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a custom MDF card in Latest People Profile.
  2. Observe that a field value appears blank in view mode.
  3. Click Edit for the same MDF record and observe the value displays correctly.

Cause

The issue is caused by MDF Custom Objects that contain onInit UI Rules, where the onInit UI rule is configured to use a SET operation to immediately assign a value to a field, and this behavior is triggered specifically when the current stored data for that field holds a null value prior to the value being set.

Resolution

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed in the 2H 2026 release. In the meantime, the Legacy People Profile is not affected and can be used as a workaround.
