Symptom
When saving a sales document, a warning message appears indicating that the numbers in the number range interval are almost used up or that the last number in the number range interval has been assigned. The possible error messages are:
- V1/532 Only a few free numbers remain in number range &1 for object &2.
- V1/533 The last free number in number range &1 for object &2 has been assigned.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create any sales document
- See the error message appears
Cause
When 95% of the numbers within the number range interval have already been assigned to sales document types, the system issues a warning indicating that the available numbers are close to being exhausted. If all remaining numbers are consumed, it will no longer be possible to create and save new sales documents.
The first warning message appears when the number range reaches a critical usage level, while the second error message is triggered once the final available number has been assigned.
Resolution
