Symptom
When entering a CAS number in the International Trade - Import view of the material (MM02), the system issues error message no. 00058: "Entry [value] does not exist in T610C (check entry)" and the material cannot be saved.
Environment
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open transaction MM02.
- Select any material.
- Choose the International Trade - Import view.
- In the CAS Number field, enter a CAS value and press Enter.
- Observe error 00058: "Entry [value] does not exist in T610C (check entry)".
Cause
The CAS Number field in the MM02 International Trade - Import view is a legacy field.
In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, table T610C (which validates entries for this field) is not configurable; there is no SSCUI or configuration path to maintain T610C.
Due to this, any value entered in this field fails validation with error 00058.
This is standard system behavior; the field is present in the UI but not functional in the current SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Resolution
Do not maintain CAS numbers in the MM02 CAS Number field, as it is not functional in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Maintain CAS numbers via Product Compliance using the Manage Identifiers app (F7919) instead.
