3761480 - Job profile builder not appearing on employee profile when position is configured within family/roles

Symptom

  • The Job Profile Builder configured is not appearing on the employee profile.
  • The issue occurs when trying to view it on the profile of an employee who has the position configured within the family/roles.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Job Profile Builder

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure families and roles and assign a position within Job Profile Builder.
  2. Open the employee profile for a user who has the configured position.
  3. Observe that the Job Profile (link/block) does not appear on the profile.

Cause

  • Families and roles were created, but the actual Job Profile was not created and activated.
  • The employee's Job Code/Job Classification is not mapped to the Role.

Resolution

1. Verify mapping between Job Code/Job Classification and Role:

  • Go to Manage Job Profile Content > Set Up Families and Roles.
  • Open the relevant Role and confirm the employee’s Job Code/Job Classification is assigned.
  • For position-based Job Profiles, ensure the Position is correctly mapped.

2. Confirm an active Job Profile exists:

  • Go to Manage Job Profiles.
  • Search for the relevant Family/Role.
  • Ensure a Job Profile exists and its status is Active.

3. Expose the Job Profile link in People Profile:

  • Go to Configure People Profile (or Latest People Profile).
  • Add the Live Profile User Information block.
  • Include the Job Code field to enable the Job Profile link on the user profile.

4. Ensure the employee data chain is complete:

  • Employee has a Job Code/Job Classification assigned.
  • That Job Code is mapped to the Role.
  • The Role is mapped to an Active Job Profile.
