Symptom
- In the SAP Analytics Cloud add-in for Excel, when selecting Format > Display scale in Columns, currency units are moved to the column header as expected, but other units remain prefixed to cell values and are not displayed in the header.
- The issue does not occur when only one dimension is selected in the design panel.
- The issue does not occur when only measures with the same unit are included.
- No error messages are displayed.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a report with at least one dimension and one or more measure(s).
- In the design panel, choose Format and set Display scale to Columns.
- Return to the results and observe that some units (for example, non-currency units) remain in front of the figures instead of appearing in the column header.
Cause
- The selected data includes records where the unit is not retrieved, resulting in inconsistent unit metadata within a column or row. This inconsistency prevents the application from aggregating and displaying a single unit in the column (or row) header.
Resolution
- Ensure that each displayed column or row contains measures with the same unit/scale/currency.
- Avoid selections where unit metadata is missing; adjust the model or underlying data so that a unit is provided for all relevant records.
- If needed, filter the dataset by unit or adjust the layout (rows/columns) so that only one unit applies per axis, allowing the unit to be displayed in the header.
