3762440 - Custom Field Label Changes in Adaptation Do Not Save After Exiting Adaptation Mode

Symptom

Custom fields including PDI label changes made in Adaptation Mode revert to their original names after exiting the adaptation session

Environment

SAP Cloud For Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to c4c system
  2. Enter adaptation mode and navigate to a custom field.
  3. Change the label for the custom field
  4. End adaptation mode
  5. The label reverts to the original name

Cause

Currently label change is only available for standard sap provided fields and cannot be changed for custom fields.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior. Language adaptation can be used as an alternative to change the label of these custom fields - https://help.sap.com/docs/sap-cloud-for-customer/sap-cloud-for-customer-extension-guide/translate-and-adapt-user-interface-texts
