Symptom
- No errors during import, but users are missing
- Employee Data Import shows Completed with no changes applied
- Expected users are not available after import
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Import Employee Data.
- Validate Import File Data
- Everything ok
- Than Import file.
- Check in Schedule Job Manager the Job Id for Job type Employee Data Import (for Employee Central only)
- Status: Completed
- Check details: no issues
Cause
- The user ID already exists as a Learning or Onboarding user, which prevents creation/update via basic user import.
- In some cases, attempted purges did not fully remove the records because Data Retention Time Management (DRTM) retention settings for Master Data/Onboarding blocked deletion, leaving residual records that continue to block import.
Resolution
Perform a hard purge of the affected user(s)
Ensure the user is permanently removed from the system (no residual records remain).
Prepare the import file (confirm required fields are correct)Re-import the data using Basic Import.
