Symptom
In Manage Fixed Assets app, it is possible to post a G/L account without a tax code, although the G/L account has tax-relevant indicator, and Posting without taxes: No.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Manage Fixed Assets app.
- Choose an item, choose Post - Post Acquisition - Acquisition (Net).
- Simulate or post the document.
- Observe that no tax-related error (for example, FS214: "G/L account * requires a valid tax code) is issued and the posting proceeds.
Cause
The checks for error FS214 'G/L account * requires a valid tax code' are not executed in this scenario because the document is posted exclusively in the General Ledger (posting status U - Posting in General Ledger Only). As a result, the standard validation checks are bypassed during this posting process.
Resolution
This is expected system behavior: asset documents are generally not considered tax-relevant, and therefore, the corresponding tax checks are not performed for this document type.
