3763524 - VLMOVE029 Raised During Goods Receipt for Inbound Delivery Although Item Category Is Configured as "Not Relevant for Picking" - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When posting Goods Receipt for an Inbound Delivery (delivery type EL) in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the system issues the following error:

VLMOVE029 - Delivery has not yet been put away

The issue occurs even when the delivery item category (for example, DLN4, TPOP or ELP) is configured as "Not Relevant for Picking" in SSCUI 102179.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open SSCUI 102179 - Define Item Categories for Deliveries.
2. Verify that the item category (for example, DLN4, TPOP or ELP) is configured with the indicator "Relevant for Picking" not selected.
3. Create or modify an inbound delivery (delivery type EL) so that one of the above item categories is assigned to the delivery item.
4. Open the app Post Goods Receipt for Inbound Delivery.
5. Select the inbound delivery and attempt to post the Goods Receipt without maintaining a Putaway Quantity.
6. Observe that the system issues message:
   VLMOVE029 - Delivery has not yet been put away

The indicator "Relevant for Picking" maintained in SSCUI 102179 affects outbound delivery processing only. For inbound deliveries, the system continues to perform standard putaway validation during Goods Receipt processing. Therefore, item categories such as DLN4, TPOP and ELP may still require a Putaway Quantity even when the "Relevant for Picking" indicator is not selected.

As a result, the system issues message VLMOVE029 if the inbound delivery is considered relevant for putaway and the required putaway information has not been provided.

This behavior is consistent with the current standard system design.

If Goods Receipt needs to be posted without the standard putaway validation, the released BAdI LE_SHP_MODIFY_ITEM can be used as a possible workaround to adjust the delivery item processing.

If the current standard functionality does not fulfill the business requirement, an enhancement request can be submitted through the SAP Customer Influence program as described in KBA 2963059 - How to Submit Feature Requests for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
