Symptom
Manage Profit Centers change log does not reflect the company code assignment correctly after new company code creation.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a profit center.
- Do not make any manual changes to the profit center’s company code assignments.
- Ensure Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) is disabled.
- Create a new company code after the profit center exists.
- Open the Manage Profit Centers app (or Change Log - Profit Centers) and review the change log for the profit center.
- Observe that the profit center is assigned to the newly created company code, but no corresponding change log entry exists for this assignment.
Resolution
- With JVA disabled, when a company code is created after an existing profit center (and no prior assignment changes exist for that profit center), the system automatically assigns the new company code to the profit center by default.
- No explicit change is performed on the profit center at that time; therefore, the change log does not record an entry for this automatic assignment and simply reflects the current configuration.
