Symptom

The /hana/log volume on the Primary site continuously increases and approaches full capacity.

Log segments remain retained and are not released or reused.

SAP HANA System Replication may show replication backlog, delayed log replay, or intermittent disconnects.

The following symptoms, alerts, or trace entries may be observed:

  • Retained log segments on the Primary site
  • Increasing log shipping or log replay backlog
  • Secondary site log replay is delayed or not progressing
  • SecondaryLogReplayNoProgress
  • PreloadManagerLogReplay
  • Allocation failed
  • OUT OF MEMORY
  • OOM dumps on the Secondary site
  • Replication backlog related alerts
