3764181 - Email notification preferences unchecked for newly synchronized SAP Jam users

• Newly synchronized users do not have email notification preferences enabled by default.
• For affected users, all notification preference checkboxes appear unchecked and do not follow the expected default email notification settings.

SAP Jam Collaboration

1. Synchronize a new user from the source system to SAP Jam without a valid email address (for example, with an empty or placeholder email).
2. Access the user’s notification preferences in SAP Jam.
3. Observe that all email notification options are unchecked instead of using the expected defaults.

This is expected behavior.

SAP Jam has a built-in rule that automatically unsubscribes users from all email notifications when they are synchronized without a valid email address.

As a result, all email notification preference checkboxes are automatically unchecked for these users.

To prevent users from being synchronized with all notification preferences unchecked, ensure that a valid email address is maintained for the user in the source system (BizX) before the user is synchronized to SAP Jam.

For users who have already been affected:

1. Sign in to SAP Jam with appropriate administrator privileges or proxy as the affected user.
2. Open the user's Notification Preferences page.
3. Manually re-enable the required email notification options.

Important: Updating the user's email address to a valid value after the synchronization does not automatically re-enable email notifications. Once a user has been synchronized without a valid email address and has been automatically unsubscribed, the notification preferences must be manually re-enabled.
