Symptom

  • During execution of SAP Host Agent command for ASE upgrade check:
    ./saphostctrl -user sapadm <password> -function LiveDatabaseUpdate -dbname <DBNAME> -dbtype syb -updatemethod Check -updateoption TASK=CHECK_UPDATE_ASE -updateoption DROP_LOCATION=<path>

    the following error occurs:
    Error: sapdbctrl: Failed to logon sa. Please provide valid sa credentials in the SAP Secure Store. (fault code: 127)

  • Validation of secure store entries shows 'SAUPD' user not found
    ./saphostctrl -function LiveDatabaseUpdate -dbname <DBNAME> -dbtype syb -updateoption TASK=VALIDATE_SEC_STORES

    GLOBAL_SAUPD=not found
