3764364 - Freight Unit Created From Purchase Order is Blocked for Planning

A freight unit is created based on purchase order document. However when you go to the Freight Unit, under the stage it displays “Stage is not relevant for planning” and the Planning Status indicates a planning block.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to the Manage Freight Units app.
2. Locate and open the affected Freight Unit.
3. Check the Status and Blocking Information sections
4. The freight unit is blocked for further processing; stages show “not relevant for planning.”
5. Attempt to plan the freight unit in the Transportation Cockpit and create a freight order (not possible).
6. Try to process the related inbound delivery and observe the error message about warehouse execution block.

A delivery block configuration for the source document type sets planning and execution blocks (via “Define Blocks Based on Delivery …”), which propagates to the freight unit and makes stages not relevant for planning.

Follow the below steps to remove the planning block; 

1. Open the Business Configuration app
2. Navigate to: Implementation Activities > Transportation Management > Integration > Logistics Integration > External TM System Integration > Define Blocking of Transportation Requirements > Define Blocks Based on Delivery
3. For the relevant source document type (for example, Purchase Order), remove the Planning Block and/or Execution Block settings as appropriate
4. Save and activate the configuration
5. Open the Manage Freight Units app and refresh the freight unit
6. Review Blocking Information, and confirm the planning/execution blocks are cleared and stages become relevant for planning
7. Replan the freight unit in the Transportation Cockpit and create the freight order
8. Reprocess the inbound delivery; the warehouse execution block should be removed automatically when the TM block is cleared
