Symptom
- In the mobile app, the Basic Information tile displays more fields than the user has permission to view.
- The additional fields become visible when using the “Show Empty Fields” option in the mobile app.
- The extra fields display blank/null values; no error message appears.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Mobile
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into the mobile app as a user (for example, a manager).
- Open another user’s profile.
- Go to the Basic Information tile.
- Enable “Show Empty Fields”.
- Observe that fields the user does not have permission to view are listed, but they show empty/blank values.
Cause
- Known mobile app issue (1H2026 timeframe): non-permissioned fields are rendered as visible entries (with blank/null values) in the Basic Information tile when “Show Empty Fields” is used.
- Data permissions are not bypassed (no extra data is seen)
Resolution
- Update to the 2607 release. This release hides fields for which the user does not have viewing permission, instead of displaying them as empty.
- Until the update is applied, note that the behavior does not expose any unauthorized data; only blank/null values are displayed.
