Symptom

  • SAP HANACleaner is executed with backup cleanup options enabled.
  • Backup catalog entries are removed successfully, but backup files appear to remain on operating system level.
  • Customers expect the corresponding backup files to be physically deleted from the filesystem.
  • The behavior may be observed when using commands similar to:
    python hanacleaner.py -be -bd -bb true -br true
