3765273 - Error - SSH_MSG_DISCONNECT: 2 Too Many Authentication Failures While Connecting With SFTP Partner

Symptom

  • While attempting to establish an SFTP connection from/to SAP system (e.g., CPI, PI/PO, or ECC) to an external SFTP server, the connection fails with the following error - SSH_MSG_DISCONNECT: 2 Too many authentication failures.
  • The SFTP session is terminated immediately after connection initiation.
  • Authentication does not complete successfully despite correct credentials or SSH key configuration.
  • No successful login attempt is recorded on the SFTP server logs. 
  • The issue may occur intermittently or consistently depending on the number of authentication attempts made during connection.
