Symptom

Error message SIPT 316 "No number range number &2 &3 for company code &1 in Customizing" appears when posting Accounting document in a Portuguese Company Code.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Start posting an FI document with Portuguese company code.
  2. Enter the necessary header data and line items, then simulate or post.
  3. The system raises error SIPT 316: "No number range number &2 &3 for company code &1 in Customizing."

Cause

Missing configuration of the relevant number range interval in SSCUI 180010 - Record Number Ranges for Digital Signature of Invoices (FI) configuration activity for the Portuguese company code. According to legal requirements in Portugal, as of January 1, 2011, software that is used to create accounting, billing, and delivery documents must be able to digitally sign the data using an RSA algorithm. 

Resolution

Follow the steps in SAP Help Configuring Digital Signature and ATCUD for Accounting Documents and maintain the settings required to create accounting documents with digital signatures that comply with the legal requirements in Portugal. In particular, enter number ranges and assign a leading document type and series to each of them in the Record Number Ranges for Digital Signature of Invoices (FI) activity.
