Symptom
- The Exclude condition in the option selection parameters of the app Generate Intercompany Billing Request does not work as intended.
- When attempting to exclude specific projects, the system still includes billing items from the project in the billing request results.
- The issue occurs during the billing request process in the Generate Intercompany Billing Request app.
Environment
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Generate Intercompany Billing Request app and apply an Exclude filter on field Project.
- Execute and review the results or job log; items intended to be excluded still appear.
Cause
Using the Exclude operator “not equal to” for Project excludes only the exact project string and does not evaluate the project/WBS hierarchy, so lower-level WBS elements remain included.
Resolution
- In the Generate Intercompany Billing Request app, when excluding by Project, choose Exclude with the operator “does not start with” and enter the project prefix to ensure the full project hierarchy (all WBS levels) is excluded.
- Avoid using the operator “not equal to” for project exclusions, as it only excludes an exact string match and does not cover WBS elements.
- Re-run the billing request and verify that the results or job log no longer contain items from the excluded project hierarchy.
