3766176 - Mass Upload Targets Fails with Error "Import Validation Failed"

When using the Import function in the Target Planning work center to mass upload Targets, the import process fails and the status displays the error: "Import Validation Failed"

SAP Sales Cloud Version 2

1. Navigate to Target Planning.
2. Click the Import icon.
3. Select Create.
4. Upload the prepared Excel file.
5. Click Import.
6. The import status is displayed as Failed with error message "Import Validation Failed".

The uploaded Excel file contains a mix of new target records and update records (or blank/null records). Combining create and update operations in the same import file is not supported.

Use separate Excel files for target creation and target updates:

• For creating new targets: Include only records that need to be created.
• For updating existing targets: Include only existing records with their corresponding Technical IDs and the updated values.

If create and update records are combined in a single Excel file, the system cannot process the request and the import will fail with an error.
