3766291 - Learning history connector completion time not imported correctly - SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Symptom

Learning history connector does not import the correct completion time or imported completion times shifting by one hour.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Prepare a Learning History input file that records completions for a class or item
  2. Run the Learning History Connector to import the completion.
  3. Observe that the stored completion timestamp in the system differs from input file and may have one hour difference

Cause

  • When recording learning history for a class, the connector uses the class end date; the standard completion date becomes optional.
  • The timezone used (for example, ART/Eastern European Time) is affected by daylight saving time; after the DST shift, a local time maps to a different UTC time than before, causing a one-hour mismatch.

Resolution

  • If recording history for a class, the input file references the class end date and it is working as expected.
  • For entries without class and uses timezone affected by DST, consider converting completion date to UTC when preparing input file to avoid daylight saving time offsets. Alternatively, adjust the local completion time in the input by one hour to align with the post-DST UTC offset.
  • The default completion date timezone can also be set in CONNECTORS configuration via learninghistory.connector.defaultValue.ComplDteTimezone
