3766893 - Cost element replication scenarios accross different system combinations

Symptom

Cost element maintenance has been integrated into G/L Account maintenance on S/4HANA releases. This change has been also introduced in MDG-F application via the switch Business Function MDG_S4_FINANCIALS_8 from S/4HANA 1809 release. If the switch Business Function MDG_S4_FINANCIALS_8 is turned off in the system, then the MDG-F application still uses the old ECC approach for Cost element maintenance.

From MDG-F perspective these changes are creating different replication scenarios and in the different scenarios different objects need to be implemented or not implemented. According to that, there are four replication scenarios considering the combinations whether the MDG-F hub uses ECC or S4 approach and the target is an ECC or an S4 system:

  • MDG-F hub using ECC approach and target is ECC
  • MDG-F hub using ECC approach and target is S4
  • MDG-F hub using S4 approach and target is ECC
  • MDG-F hub using S4 approach and target is S4

, where ECC approach means that in the release of the MDG-F hub the switch Business Function MDG_S4_FINANCIALS_8 is not yet available or it is available but switched off. and S4 approach means that the switch Business Function MDG_S4_FINANCIALS_8 is switched on.
