3766998 - Billing Document Tax Value Rounded Off Instead Of Truncated (Rounded Down)

Symptom

In billing document, tax value is rounded off rather than truncated (rounded down).

Environment

  • Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
  • Processing Billing Documents (Public Cloud)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access app VF03.
  2. Search for an affected billing document and open it.
  3. Open header details and select tab Conditions.
  4. Observe that for a tax rate (for example, 10%) producing a fractional result (for example, .5), the displayed tax is rounded off instead of truncated.

Cause

  • The tax pricing condition (for example, TTX1) is configured with Rounding Rule set to “Commercial” (round to nearest), which rounds amounts like x.5 up instead of truncating.

Resolution

  1. Open configuration activity “Set Condition Types for Pricing in Sales” (SSCUI 101120).
  2. Locate the tax condition type used in pricing (for example, TTX1).
  3. Change the Rounding Rule from “Commercial” to the rule that always rounds down (rule “B”), according to business requirements (for example, for JPY).
  4. Save the configuration.
  5. Reprice or recreate an affected billing document and confirm that the tax amount is truncated as expected.
