3767034 - error "region XX is not defined for YY" (AM215) during sales order creation via edi — SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• An error occurs when creating a Sales Order (SO) via EDI/integration.
• Error message: "Region XX is not defined for YY." (Message no. AM215)
• Regions cannot be maintained in CBC.
• The system diagnosis states the address has a region not permissible for the specified country, and advises to check Customizing: Region.

Where XX represents the region code and YY represents the country code.

1. Create a sales order automatically from a purchase order using scope item 3ZB (intercompany scenario).
2. Process the inbound OrderRequest XML where the country is YY and no  region value is provided.
3. During sales order creation, the application raises: "Region XX is not defined for YY." (AM215).

• Inbound partner conversion (EDPAR) is misconfigured, mapping external partner IDs to an internal customer belonging to a different country that carries region “41”.
• During SO creation, the country (from the payload) and the mismatched region (from the mapped customer) are combined, producing an invalid region country combination and error AM215.

1. Review inbound partner conversion entries (EDPAR) used by the integration for relevant partner roles (for example, AG, RE, RG, WE).
2. Correct the mappings so that external partner IDs for the country code point to the correct internal customer numbers for all partner roles, and not to a customer from another country.
3. Reprocess the failed message or retry the sales order creation after the EDPAR corrections.
4. Verify the standard address of the mapped NL customer contains a valid NL region code (maintain a valid NL region if missing).
5. If a truly new region is required for NL, configure regions in CBC per guidance (refer to: Configuration of New Regions in SAP S/4HANA Cloud).
