3767321 - Customer Number Gap issue while using CL_MD_BP_MAINTAIN=>MAINTAIN

Symptom

  • An error was encountered when the class and method CL_MD_BP_MAINTAIN=>MAINTAIN was used with the I_TEST_RUN parameter set to 'X'. Contrary to expected behavior, a customer number was taken when the method was called, although no customer number should have been taken.
  • The business partner number was handled correctly and remained correlative, but the customer number was not aligned with the expected behavior.
  • A number range was created for the CUST_TEST object in transaction SNRO, but no numbers from this range were taken by SAP.
