3767372 - How to 'Updating Expiry Date Using the Data Management Tool (All Supported Versions)'?

Symptom

  • The Expiry Date in an agreement marks the point at which the contract ceases to be valid or enforceable.
  • It signifies the conclusion of all contractual rights and obligations outlined within the agreement.
  • Typically, this date is derived based on the Effective Date, contract term, and any renewal or termination conditions.
  • In certain scenarios, it may be necessary to reset the expiry date for an agreement that has already expired.
  • This article outlines the steps to update the expiry date of an expired agreement using the Data Management Tool (DMT).

Note:

  • The Data Management Tool is strictly a data-fix utility and does not trigger workflows or status transitions.
  • Therefore, if an agreement is already in an Expired status and you update the Expiry Date to a future date using the Data Management Tool, the status will remain as 'Expired'.
  • If a status change is required, it must be triggered through the appropriate workflow or UI action, depending on your configuration.
