3767494 - Mass release of projects via app f3891 sets status to released without initiating approval workflow, SAP s/4hana cloud public edition

• When running mass release of projects with multiple selections in app F3891 "Mass Changes to Projects", the configured approval workflow for project release is not initiated for all selected projects.
• Projects move directly from Created (CRTD) to Released (REL) without workflow approval.
• No workflow work items are created in the approver’s inbox (Business Workplace, transaction SBWP).
• No error message is displayed.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Log on with a user authorized for project release.
2. Open app F3891 (Mass Changes to Projects).
3. Enter selection criteria to list multiple projects in status CRTD.
4. Select all projects in the result list.
5. Click Mass Changes and Release to start the mass release and observe that projects are set to REL and no workflow work items are created in SBWP.

By design, the Mass Changes to Projects process (app F3891) does not support initiating workflows; status updates performed via mass changes set the status directly and bypass the workflow engine.
Release projects individually using the standard "Project Control - Enterprise Projects" app that supports workflow initiation.
