3767533 - Data Replication Monitor shows permission errors with country-specific filter

Symptom

  • When using Data Replication Monitor with a country-specific filter (for example, US), the page shows permission errors or does not load expected data.
  • Error message: "The data couldn’t be read. Check if you have sufficient permissions using the Check Tool."
  • Check Tool flags missing field-level permissions even though a DRM role appears to be assigned.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Data Replication Monitor

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Data Replication Monitor.
  2. Apply a country-specific filter.
  3. Observe that the monitor displays a permission error or lacks expected data, and the Check Tool reports missing permissions even though they were granted to the affected user.

Cause

  • Field-level permissions (for example, name fields) are not granted for the complete DRM target population that the user can see; the Check Tool reports them as missing if not covered for all relevant people.
  • The Employee Profile field “Status” is not enabled in Business Configuration and/or not granted with view permission.
  • Fields might not have view permission for the user’s complete target population.

Resolution

  1. In Role-Based Permissions, ensure all required person and employment field view permissions (for example, first name, display name, status) cover the complete DRM population visible to the user.
  2. Place all relevant field permissions in the same permission role that grants “Access to Data Replication Monitor” to avoid mismatches.
  3. If DRM is used in admin mode, grant the field permissions to everyone. If DRM is used in restricted mode, use the same target population for both DRM access and the field permissions.
  4. In Manage Business Configuration > Employee Profile > Standard, make sure to enable the “Status” field.
  5. Grant view permission for the “Status” field in the applicable permission role.
  6. Ensure the “Display Name” field has view permission for the user’s complete target population.
  7. Re-run the Check Tool for DRM permissions and retest Data Replication Monitor with the country filter.
