3767802 - Error "Job information - You do not have the necessary permissions" when changing a picklist value and saving Job Information via Latest Editing and History UI

After the enablement of the Latest Editing and History UI, end users receive the error message "Job information - You do not have the necessary permissions" when attempting to save Job Information after changing a picklist value within the Latest People Profile. The issue is not observed for every picklist, but may occur with some PICKLIST and BOOLEAN type fields.

Prerequisites

• Latest Editing and History UI is enabled.
• Job Information entity import permission is not granted.

Replication steps:

1. Open any employee profile within the system.
2. Navigate to the Job Information card.
3. Select the Edit (Pencil) or History (Clock) icon.
4. Change a picklist field value.
5. Attempt to save the changes.
6. The following error message is displayed: "Job information - You do not have the necessary permissions".

Engineering team will provide a fix via patch on July 14th in Preview instance and 17th for Production environments.

The targeted fix is planned for the 1H2025 // 2605p13 (14-Jul-2026 Preview)  release. Please note that this timeline is provisional and subject to final confirmation.

Workaround

• Perform the same changes via All Actions > Change Job and Compensation Information.

        OR

• Disable the Latest Editing and History UI via the Configure Latest People Profile tool.
