3768116 - I-9 reverification not created when document expiration - Onboarding

• I‑9 Reverification/Section 3 are not automatically created for some employees expected to undergo reverification.
• Records migrated from Onboarding 1.0 to 2.0 show no automatic reverification task creation.
• Tasks can be created only by manually starting the I‑9 flow.
• I-9 Reverification for candidates migrated from Onboarding 1.0 is not automatically triggering.

• SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Set the I‑9 Reverification compliance configuration to create tasks a defined number of days before document expiration (for example, 30 days).
2. Review employees whose I‑9 document expiration dates are not within the configured window (for example, more than 30 days away).
3. Observe that no I‑9 Reverification/Section 3 task is created.
4. Check the employee’s I‑9 audit trail (latest sequence) and confirm the document expiration date is outside the configured window.

• I‑9 Reverification are initiated based on the configured “days before expiration” in Compliance Settings. For the reviewed records, the I‑9 document expiration dates were not within the configured window, so no tasks were created.
• Candidate migrated from Onboarding 1.0 check their I-9 Audit trail data in present in Manage Data > I-9 Audit Trail
• Make sure in Provisioning > Manage Schedule Job > Trigger I-9 Reverification job is setup and running daily.

1. Verify the I‑9 Reverification compliance setting for “days before document expiration” in Compliance Settings.
2. For impacted employees, review the I‑9 audit trail (latest sequence) and confirm the document expiration date.
3. If the expiration date falls within the configured window, allow time for the regular process to create the reverification task.
4. If business needs require earlier task creation, adjust the “days before expiration” configuration accordingly.
5. If immediate action is required for specific employees, manually start the I‑9 Reverification/Section 3 flow.
6. Note: When the expiration date is outside the configured window, no task will be created. This is expected behavior.
