3768531 - Error message: "Too many decimal places (maximum 1)" (Message no. DB739)

Symptom

The system allows a maximum of 1 decimal place when maintaining over-delivery tolerance limits in customer shipping data.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the App Maintain Business partner.
  2. Enter a customer Business Partner number.
  3. Open the Customer role.
  4. Go to sales & Distribution.
  5. Open the Shipping tab.
  6. Navigate to Shipping Conditions > Tolerance Limits.
  7. Enter an Overdeliv. Tolerance value with more than 1 decimal place.
  8. Save and observe the error: "Too many decimal places (maximum 1)" (Message no. DB739).

Cause

A value has been entered with more decimal places than the field allows.

Resolution

The field is configured to accept only one decimal place, but the entered value contains two or more decimal places.

Example:

  • Allowed: 1.5
  • Not Allowed: 1.55 or 1.567
