3768571 - inbound delivery creation blocked for segmented material without existing batch: automatic batch number assignment inactive (lb029) – s/4hana

• Creating an inbound delivery for a material with segmentation and batch management active fails when no batch exists yet.
• The system raises error “Automatic batch number assignment is inactive or not allowed” (Message No. LB029) during delivery creation (for example, in VL31N).
• The same process works when the material is not segmentation-enabled or when a batch already exists.
• Disabling batch split in delivery type/item category does not prevent the error.
