3768690 - Task Management Page Shows No Tasks After Enablement - Onboarding

Symptom

After enabling the Task Management page in Admin Center > Onboarding General Settings, the Manage Tasks button becomes visible on the Onboarding Dashboard, but the Task Management page displays no tasks. In some scenarios, the Start button in the Actions column is also not rendered for certain task types.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Onboarding General Settings and enable the Enable Task Management on Onboarding Dashboard setting.
  2. Open the Onboarding Dashboard.
  3. Click the Manage Tasks button.
  4. Observe that the Task Management page opens with an empty task list.

Cause

The Task Management page retrieves data from the ONB2ProcessUserTask entity. Access to this entity must be granted explicitly in Role-Based Permissions. If the permission role assigned to the user does not include it, the page returns no results regardless of the setting being enabled.

The Task Management page displays only tasks assigned to the currently logged-in user. If the session user has no active onboarding tasks assigned, the page appears empty. This behavior is by design for the initial release of this feature.

NOTE: The Task Management page supports Onboarding process tasks only. Offboarding tasks are not available in this release.

Resolution

For Live Customer(s)

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles.
  2. Select the permission role assigned to the user experiencing the issue.
  3. Verify that the role includes access to the ONB2ProcessUserTask object. Grant the permission if it is missing, then save the role.
  4. Have the user log out and log back in to refresh the session.
  5. Open the Onboarding Dashboard and click Manage Tasks.
  6. If the page is still empty, confirm that the session user has active onboarding tasks assigned. Test with a hiring manager or HR administrator account that has pending onboarding tasks. Administrator accounts accessed via proxy will show an empty list if no tasks are assigned to that proxy user.

If the Start button is missing for a specific task type after completing the steps above, open a support case with the affected task type name and a screenshot of the Task Management page for further investigation.

For Implementation Partner(s) and Consultant(s)

  1. Follow the steps above to verify and update the RBP configuration for the ONB2ProcessUserTask entity.
  2. When validating the feature, use a hiring manager or HR administrator account with active onboarding tasks assigned to the session user, not an administrator proxy account.
