3768718 - Error: "The delivery notification already exists. Enter a new delivery notification ID"

Symptom

When creating a new Supplier Delivery Notification, the following error appears " The delivery notification already exists. Enter a new delivery notification ID".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Inbound Logistics work center
  2. Go to Purchase Orders view.
  3. Enter the relevant Purchase Order ID and choose Go.
  4. Choose New Supplier Delivery Notification.
  5. Enter the Delivery Notification ID in the Delivery Notification ID field.
  6. Choose Save and Create Warehouse Request.
  7. Error message appears: "The delivery notification already exists. Enter a new delivery notification ID."

Cause

  • This error occurs because the Delivery Notification ID has already been used. Once a Delivery Notification ID is used, it remains reserved in the system and cannot be reused.
  • This is Standard System Behavior

Resolution

Create the Supplier Delivery Notification using a unique Delivery Notification ID.

  1. Go to Inbound Logistics work center
  2. Go to Purchase Orders view.
  3. Enter the relevant Purchase Order ID and choose Go.
  4. Choose New Supplier Delivery Notification.
  5. Enter the Unique Delivery Notification ID in the Delivery Notification ID field.
  6. Choose Save and Create Warehouse Request.
