Symptom

An error occurs when entering a numeric value in the Individual Percent field during configuration of a Variable Pay plan with Assignment Based Rating.

Error message: "Individual Percent NaN is an invalid entry."

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in as a planner user.
  2. Navigate to Compensation > Executive Review and open the relevant Variable Pay plan worksheet.
  3. Enter a numeric value (for example, 50 or 75) in the Individual payout % (Individual Percent) field at assignment level.

Cause

The Individual Percent field on the worksheet was configured as not visible. With the field hidden, manual entry at assignment level resulted in a validation failure, showing "NaN is an invalid entry" and preventing calculations.

Resolution

The Engineering Team has confirmed that a permanent fix for this issue is planned for the SAP SuccessFactors 2H 2026 release with the following deployment schedule:

  • Preview Environment: October 12, 2026
  • Production Environment: November 13–14, 2026

Workaround

Until the fix is delivered, perform the following steps:

    1. Edit the Variable Pay template configuration and set the Individual Percent field to Visible on the worksheet at the assignment level (Summary/Assignment section).
    2. Relaunch or update the affected worksheets so they inherit the configuration change.
    3. Open the worksheet and enter a numeric value in the Individual Percent field to verify that the "NaN is an invalid entry" error no longer occurs.
