3768916 - Curriculum shows on learning plan immediately upon initial assignment despite future due date (for example, 5 years)

Symptom

When assigning a curriculum to users as required with a 5-year due date, it is showing on the user's learning plan.

Environment

SAP Success Factors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Learning Administration.
  2. Open a curriculum and assign it to a user with an initial period set far in the future (for example, 1825 days).
  3. Observe that the curriculum appears on the user's Learning Plan with a far-future due date.

Cause

This is expected application behavior: initial curriculum assignments are displayed immediately on the Learning Plan; display thresholds apply to retraining items/requirements and not to the initial curriculum card.

Resolution

  • Acknowledge that the behavior is by design: initial curriculum assignments appear immediately on the Learning Plan regardless of the due date or display thresholds.
  • To control visibility for retraining scenarios only, adjust the following parameters under System Configuration > USER LEARNING PLAN: learningPlanQualItemsAndRequirementsDisplayThreshold and learningPlanRequiredItemsDisplayThreshold.
  • There is no configuration-based option to delay or hide the visibility of the initial curriculum assignment on the Learning Plan.
