Symptom
- Scheduled purge jobs are not enforcing retention configurations for employees associated with inactive Legal Entities.
- The issue occurs when terminated employees' data is not purged according to configured retention rules, despite successful purging of other employee data.
Environment
- Product: SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Data Retention Management - (DRM & DRTM) EC Data Only
Reproducing the Issue
- In People Profile, identify a terminated user and confirm a company exit/termination date is present.
- In Manage Data, review the retention configuration for DRTM Person Information (for example, DRTM Personal Details for the relevant country).
- In Manage Data, set or confirm the relevant Legal Entity is inactive.
- In Data Retention Management, review the purge request settings for DRTM Person Information.
- Run the purge request (for example, launch immediately).
- Check the Purge Request Monitor and observe that records for users linked to the inactive Legal Entity are not purged.
Cause
Current product limitation: users associated with inactive Legal Entities are not included in DRTM purge when purge requests are created.
Resolution
Engineering team is currently working on enhancing this by including inactive Legal entities as well during purge request creation.
