3769594 - Dynamic Range Filter is Removed when Activating Hierarchy Presentation in SAC Story

In SAC Story, a dynamic range filter is set by "Filter by Range" for a dimension.
When selecting a hierarchy as presentation hierarchy, this dynamic range filter is removed.

• SAC BW Live Connection
• SAC S/4HANA Live Connection

This behavior is an expected system limitation. Dynamic filter of range type is not supported when an active hierarchy presentation is applied. 

This behavior is not specific to SAC but applies generally for BW Query.
When executing BW Query in transaction RSRT or a frontend tool, making a range filter and switch on hierarchy display, the range filter would be removed and it would show a warning message "Invalid filter on 0CALYEAR: Filter changed" (BRAIN 502).

Notice:
For Static filter (defined in "Filter: Fixed Values" area in Query definition), it is possible to have range filter together with active presentation hierarchy.
This limitation is only for dynamic filter. That is filter defined in "Filter: Default Values" area in Query definition or filter applied when executing the Query.

To view the required data, you can use below options:

• Use "Filter by Member" instead of "Filter by Range"
• Deactivate the hierarchy and then apply the range filter.
