3769750 - Error Message 'Acct numbers with more than 18 digits are not permitted for cntry/reg. DE'

Symptom

When maintaining a worker's IBAN in the Manage Workforce app, the following error is displayed 'Acct numbers with more than 18 digits are not permitted for cntry/reg. DE'.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Manage Workforce app.
  2. Select the Worker.
  3. Navigate to work agreements.
  4. Create a bank account.
  5. Observe the error: "Acct numbers with more than 18 digits are not permitted for cntry/reg. DE".

Cause

The error occurs when the account number derived from the IBAN exceeds the permitted length or when the IBAN format is invalid. 

Resolution

  • Verify that the IBAN has been entered correctly and does not contain any extra spaces or invalid characters. Re-enter the IBAN without spaces and save the bank account data. 
  • Recheck the Country-Specific Checks for Bank Data in the configuration activity 102592 - Set Country-Specific Checks and ensure that the settings for country are correctly maintained as per the required bank data validation rules
