3769949 - Error: "Unable to save bookmark" appears when saving a bookmark current state in a story in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • Below error appear when trying to save a bookmark (current state) of an SAC story:

    "Unable to save bookmark"

  • Below error appears in the "Console" logs:

    "Save bookmark failed, Set bookmark failed".

Environment

SAP Analytics cloud (2026.2.10)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC System.
  2. Open the affected story.
  3. Choose "Bookmark" > "Bookmark Current State",
  4. Provide a name > and "Save".
    >> Observe that the operation fails with the stated error messages: "Unable to save bookmark."

Cause

Bookmark configuration in the story settings was not configured to include all components.

Resolution

  1. Open the story in "Edit" mode.
  2. Go to top bar and select "Story Settings" button -> "View Time Settings" -> "Bookmarks"
  3. Select "All components in the Story".
  4. Save the settings.
  5. Retry creating the bookmark
    >> Message received: "Bookmark saved".
