3770367 - EWM activities possible without warehouse management view for production receipts (by design) - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• In S/4HANA Cloud, EWM activities can be performed for materials without a Warehouse Management view maintained in the product master data.
• Activities observed include syncing the inbound delivery from ERP to EWM, packing in the inbound delivery, goods receipt posting, and putaway.
• This behavior appears unexpected, similar to processing sales or purchasing documents for materials without sales/purchasing views.
• No error messages are displayed.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. In Manage Product Master Data, select a finished good that has no Warehouse Management view maintained.
2. Create a production order for the selected material.
3. Confirm the operation steps for the production order.
4. Upon completion of the last operation (with auto goods receipt in the control key), an inbound delivery for production is generated.
5. In Change Inbound Deliveries – Production, find the generated inbound delivery.
6. Perform packing, then post goods receipt, create the putaway task, and confirm the putaway task.
7. Observe that EWM steps are possible although no Warehouse Management view is maintained for the material.

• The materials are processed in production-related warehouse scenarios driven by manufacturing objects (for example, manufacturing orders, production scheduling profiles, production versions, production supply areas, and control cycles).
• In these standard production integration scenarios, Warehouse Product Data (Warehouse Management view) is not a mandatory prerequisite for goods receipt from production and subsequent warehouse activities.

• Verify that the scenario is production-related (manufacturing order with auto goods receipt creating an inbound delivery for production).
• Acknowledge that, per standard production integration design, Warehouse Product Data is not required for goods receipt from production and subsequent warehouse processing in EWM.
• No correction is required; this is expected system behavior.
