3770489 - Group Data Analysis app defaults blank Fiscal Year Period field.

• In the Group Data Analysis app, the Fiscal Year Period field defaults to a "nil" record, making it difficult to select an appropriate value.
• When opening the value help/dialog for Fiscal Year Period, a suitable period cannot be selected due to the "nil" entry.
• No error message is displayed.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Group Data Analysis app.
2. Open the Fiscal Year Period field (value help/dialog) and observe that it defaults to a "Blank/ nil" record, preventing normal selection.

This is the expected system behavior. 

The Group Data Analysis app can derive period-related selection values from the values maintained in Set Global Parameters. SAP Help document states that Set Global Parameters (for more details, please check "See Also" section) is used to specify global parameters that apply to all further steps of the consolidation process.

When no global parameters are maintained before opening the reporting app, there is no fiscal year/period value available for derivation. The blank entry shown in the selected condition area represents an initial selection condition. It is not a valid fiscal period record and does not indicate incorrect Group Reporting transactional data.

The fiscal year period values themselves are based on fiscal year variant settings. SAP Help document explains that the fiscal year variant defines periods, period texts, and period definitions used in Group Reporting.

Before using Group Data Analysis, maintain the required values in Set Global Parameters.

1. Open Set Global Parameters.
2. Enter the required values, for example:
   • Version
   • Fiscal Year
   • Period
   • Consolidation Group, if applicable
3. Save the global parameters.
4. Open Group Data Analysis.
5. Confirm that Fiscal Year Period is derived from the maintained global parameters.
