3770765 - Temporarily Disable Outbound Email to External Recipients in Test Tenant in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Need to temporarily prevent outbound emails from being sent to external recipients in a quality/test tenant, but the 'Output Parameter Determination'(OPD) app does not provide a complete solution for blocking all email transmissions.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Configure output determination or business processes that generate outbound emails.
2. Execute a transaction that triggers email output (for example, billing documents, sales documents, workflows, or notifications).
3. Observe that emails are sent to external recipient domains.
4. Attempt to prevent email transmission using Output Parameter Determination(OPD) settings.
5. Notice that outbound emails may still be generated.

Output Parameter Determination controls business document outputs but does not centrally block all outbound email transmissions generated by the system as outbound email delivery is controlled through email domain allow-list settings maintained in configuration activities: "101312- Define Allowed Email Receiver Domains For Email Outbound " and "101311-Define Default Email Sender Address".

Follow below steps in Manage Your Solution' app:

1. Open 'Manage Your Solution' app.
2. Navigate to 'Configure Your Solution'.
3. Search for the ID '101311' and '101312'.
4. Choose configuration activities: "101312 -Define Allowed Email Receiver Domains for Email Outbound” and “101311- Define Allowed Sender Domains for Email Outbound”.
5. To stop delivery to external recipients enter only the internal testing domains in the allow list (for example, *@example.com) so emails are delivered only to those domains.
6. To stop all outbound email entirely, leave the allow list tables empty (no sender or recipient will be allowed).
7. Save the settings.
8. Repeat the maintenance in each system separately (settings are system‑specific).
9. Validate the result with the “Monitor Email Transmissions”(F5442) app to ensure no emails are sent to domains outside the allow list.

In case while using SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC) :

1. Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration.
2. Select the relevant workspace.
3. Navigate to the configurations activity tab.
4.  Search for the configuration activities: 101312 “Define Allowed Email Receiver Domains for Email Outbound” and “Define Allowed Sender Domains for Email Outbound”.
5. To stop delivery to external recipients enter only the internal testing domains in the allow list (for example, *@example.com) so emails are delivered only to those domains.
6. To stop all outbound email entirely, leave the allow list tables empty (no sender or recipient will be allowed).
7. Save the settings.
8. Repeat the maintenance in each system separately (settings are system‑specific).
9. Validate the result with the “Monitor Email Transmissions”(F5442) app to ensure no emails are sent to domains outside the allow list.

Note: Central outbound‑delivery control blocks delivery but does not globally disable every notification mechanism. If needed, additionally turn off email notifications in framework‑specific configurations (for example, Workflow or Situation Handling) to stop generating such notifications.
