3770827 - Application error when opening candidate profile in search results - Recruiting Management

An error occurs when users attempt to open a specific candidate’s profile from search results : Error message on screen: “An application error occurred. Please try again later, or notify support (with the error information of errorId=, timestamp=, and the version information from the current screen) if the issue keeps occurring.”

1. Navigate to Recruiting.
2. Open Candidates.
3. Search by candidate id.
4. Enter the id and run the search.
5. Click the candidate in the search results.
6. Observe that an application error is displayed and the profile does not open.

Backend exception logs shows “Duplicate key ” related to candidate tags on the candidate profile.

Duplicate tags were mapped to the same candidate by two different users, leading to a “Duplicate key” exception when the application attempts to load and merge the candidate’s tag list.

1. Identify the affected candidate(s) and validate that the candidate has duplicate entries for the same tag.
2. Once identified the removal of duplicate candidate tag records may require a backend data fix.
3. Engage Support/Engineering to remove the duplicate tag mappings from the database for the affected candidate(s). 
   Note: the OData candidateTags entity does not support DELETE operations, so self-service removal is not available.
4. After the data correction, verify that the candidate profile opens without error and that search results can be accessed normally.
5. If multiple candidates are impacted, request a scan and correction to remove all existing duplicate candidate tag mappings in the tenant.
