3770832 - "Optimized Story Building Performance" feature is not available in New Table Build Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Customer turned on "Optimize Story Building Performance" on model side. When this option is turned on, the following warning message will be available in story Builder panel for classic table: “This data source is optimized for story building and does not automatically refresh”.
• With this function, the data won't automatically refresh during editing the story, and this enhances the performance experience during editing.
• After switched the table to New Table Build Experience, this warning message disappeared from the Builder.
• Now the customer cannot pause the automatic data refresh while editing the story.

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Login to SAC.
2. Have a model with "Optimize Story Building Performance" turned on: Preferences - Data and Performance - Performance - select Optimized Story Building Performance.
3. Have a story built on this model with the classic table mode:
   • Notice, that when this model option is turned on, the following warning message will be available in story Builder panel for classic table: "This data source is optimized for story building and does not automatically refresh".
   • When this model setting is active, user can add/remove objects (dimensions, measures, filters etc.) to the table without any refresh in the table.
   • The data will be actualized in the table manually by the user, selecting the "Refresh" icon next to the above warning message in the Builder panel.
4. Have a story built on this model with the New Table Build Experience table mode:
   • Notice, that the warning message "This data source is optimized for story building and does not automatically refresh" in the Builder panel is not available anymore.
   • There won't be any option to pause the data refresh in the table while editing it in the Builder panel.

• Product limitation.
• The root cause is, that the "Optimize Story Building Performance" is not supported for Chart Design Pause Mode (Optimized Story Building Performance), and this is why the same is happening with the New Table Build Experience.
