3770988 - Custom MDF portlet attachment UI differs from other portlets in the latest people profile

Symptom

  • A custom MDF portlet with an attachment field shows a different UI compared to other portlets with attachment fields in People Profile.
  • The difference is visible on the card/attachment section of the custom MDF object.

Cause

The UI difference is expected and depends on whether the setting “Enable the Latest Viewing, Editing, and History UI on Full Profile (With Non-Configurable UI)” is enabled (latest People Profile experience) or disabled (Configurable UI experience).

Resolution

The difference in the UI is expected behavior on the latest People Profile page. It depends on whether the setting "Enable the Latest Viewing, Editing, and History UI on Full Profile (With Non-Configurable UI)" is enabled or disabled.

  • If the setting is enabled, the card will use the latest People Profile experience.
  • If the setting is disabled, the card will use the Configurable UI experience.

Therefore, the variation you are seeing in the attachment section is controlled by this setting and is expected behavior.
